The JJAFU General Assembly (Congress) Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, October 23rdThe JJAFU Assembly was held in Addis Ababa on October 23rd 2009. The Ju Jitsu representatives of the following countries were represented: Cameroon, Democratic Republic Congo, Côte d'Ivoire, Mali, Ethiopia, Niger, Senegal, Tunisia, and as observer from Italian and Greece federations. After the welcoming speech of the Ju Jitsu International President and Ju Jitsu African Union President the Assembly adopted the Agenda of the GA and discussed and decided on main issues.

JJIF President, Mr. P. Theodoropoulos described the relations between the National Federation, the Continental Unions and JJIF, and the great importance of the African countries. He pointed out that it was necessary to start and base the development efforts in Africa. The JJAFU President listed seven regional zones according to the divisions adopted by ANOCA (Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa). The Assembly decided to vote seven presidents for the respective zones (Tunisia, Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire, Dem. Rep. Congo, Ethiopia, Angola, Mauritius). The President, the Representatives of the seven zones, the General Secretary and the Treasurer will build all members of the Boards of Directors. Mr. Colince Tatsa Chinda was reelected as executive president and Major General Pierre Sambo elected as General Secretary of JJAFU at the Assembly.

The GA granted also awards for sponsoring and special Ju Jitsu activities in Africa. After exchanging the GA emblems closed the GA around 23:00 h (9 hours congress). The meeting was organized by African Union and was open for all observers.

The GA was a great success and a milestone for African and International Ju Jitsu.
