Report of the SCSA GA

E-mail Print PDF

Dearest Collaborators and friend, i am hereby forwarding to you the report sent by our JJAFU's Vice-President and President of the Zone 3 who represented the JJAFU President to the GA of the SCSA (Supreme Council of Sports in Africa) gathering among others all the sports ministers of African countries. It was held in Ivory Coast from the 22nd to 26th July 2013 at the Congress Palace of "Hotel Ivoire".
As his report is written in french, i attempt a short translation in english (a resume):

  • The main point in the agenda was the dissolution of the SCSA, which will give place to a new entity led by the "African Union Commission in charge of Sports";
  • 40 Countries of the 53 in Africa were represented, what gave the quorum and the dissolution was adopted;
  • The members of the AASC (African Associations of Sports Confederations) among which the JJAFU, seized that opportunity to hold a special meeting.
  • It is also important to mention that the forthcoming African Games of 2015 will be held in Congo-Brazzaville, and JJAFU is still engaged to include Ju-Jitsu/Self-Defense as an official demontrative sport for promotion.

We thank very much Mr. Fall Macode for his successful representation of JJAFU at that very important and highest meeting of African sports.
